The NVGCT Greiner Award is a yearly awarded prize for the best Dutch thesis on gene or cell therapy research. At our upcoming Annual Conference (25-26 June 2026) we will grant this award to a thesis that was successfully defended in 2025. Written nominations by the thesis promotor and/or co-promotor can be addressed to the NVGCT scientific committee via Dr. Massimiliano Caiazzo (letter and pdf of the thesis). The call for nominations for the Greiner Award 2025 will close on 1 April 2026. More information and a list of previous Greiner Award winners can be found here.

Bijlage Trouw: Gen- en Celtherapie in NL
Het dagblad Trouw heeft in samenwerking met de VSOP een bijlage gepubliceerd waarin de lezer geinformeerd wordt over gen- en celtherapie in Nederland: de stand van zaken, en het belang van samenwerking tussen wetenschap, overheid en samenleving. De bijlage bevat 3 interviews: met onze NVGCT voorzitter Prof. Victor van Beusechem, een patient, en een arts. Gezamenlijk lichten zij toe hoe onderzoekers, artsen en patiënten samen werken aan de toekomst van zorg. Hoe dichtbij zijn we bij echte toepassingen voor patiënten? En wat is ervoor nodig om baanbrekend onderzoek sneller naar de kliniek te brengen?
